Homeworker Connect – Freelancer Terms and Conditions
1. Introduction
These Terms and Conditions ("Agreement") set out the rules for Freelancers who provide services through the Homeworker Connect platform ("Platform").
By creating a Freelancer account or offering services, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to these terms.
2. Freelancer Status
- You are an independent contractor and not an employee, agent, or partner of Homeworker Connect.
- You are responsible for your own taxes, permits, and compliance with applicable labor laws.
- You have full control over how and when you work, subject to your agreements with Employers.
3. Eligibility & Registration
- You must be at least 18 years old (or the legal working age in your jurisdiction) to register.
- During registration, you must provide accurate details including:
- Full name
- Contact information (email/phone)
- Location (County/Sub-county)
- Skills, experience, and relevant qualifications
- Profile photo (optional but encouraged)
- Providing false or misleading information may result in account suspension or permanent ban.
4. Service Agreements
- Freelancers and Employers are free to negotiate the scope of work, deadlines, and payment terms.
- All agreements should be documented in writing or within the Platform to avoid disputes.
- Freelancers agree to deliver services professionally, on time, and to the agreed specifications.
5. Fees and Payments
- Freelancers may set their own rates unless otherwise agreed in writing with the Employer.
- Payments are made as per the agreed schedule and method (direct, escrow, or platform-facilitated).
- Platform service fees, if applicable, will be disclosed before you accept a job.
- You are responsible for invoicing and receiving payments unless using Platform payment services.
6. Intellectual Property
- Unless otherwise agreed, ownership of deliverables passes to the Employer upon full payment.
- You must not use, sell, or redistribute completed work without the Employer’s consent.
- You warrant that all work is original or properly licensed and does not infringe third-party rights.
7. Confidentiality & Data Protection
- You must not share or misuse any confidential information received from Employers or the Platform.
- You agree to handle personal data in compliance with applicable privacy laws.
8. Revisions & Dispute Handling
- Freelancers may provide a reasonable number of revisions as agreed in the project terms.
- Any disputes should first be resolved through direct communication.
- If unresolved, the dispute may be escalated to the Platform for mediation.
9. Freelancer Conduct
- No fraudulent, misleading, or unethical behavior.
- No harassment, hate speech, or discrimination.
- Deliver work that meets professional standards and agreed timelines.
10. Termination & Suspension
- Homeworker Connect may suspend or terminate accounts for rule violations or fraudulent activities.
- Freelancers may close their account at any time by contacting support.
11. Limitation of Liability
- Homeworker Connect is not a party to contracts between Freelancers and Employers.
- The Platform is not liable for disputes, losses, or damages arising from work agreements.
- Liability is limited to any Platform fees paid by you in the preceding 12 months.
12. Legal Compliance
- Freelancers must comply with all applicable labor, tax, and business laws.
- Illegal activities such as fraud, exploitation, or abuse will result in immediate account closure and possible legal action.
13. Changes to Terms
Homeworker Connect reserves the right to update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Platform after changes take effect will mean you accept the updated terms.
